Elemi oil is a clear, yellow-tinged mobile liquid with a fresh, lemony, and slightly balsamic aroma. It blends well with cardamom, cinnamon, frankincense, galbanum, lavender, melissa, myrrh, rosewood, sage, sandalwood, and spice oils.
These are naturally occurring in the essential oil.
Analgesic, antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, balsamic, expectorant, fungicidal, regulatory, stimulant, tonic, vulnerary.
Elemi oil is generally considered non-toxic, non-sensitizing, and non-irritating. However, elemi oil may cause irritation on sensitive skin, and should be diluted before topical use.
Primary Therapy Agent:
Bronchitis, colds, sinusitis, catarrh, coughing, aged skin, wrinkles, scars, diarrhea, exhaustion, muscle pain, stress, ulcers.
Secondary Therapy Agent:
Infected wounds or cuts, excessive sweating, urinary tonic.
