Star Anise Essential Oil

$4.12

Star Anise is sometimes confused with Anise (Pimpinella anisum), but it actually comes from a seedpod native to China and Vietnam. Traditionally, star anise has been used in aromatherapy to ease the symptoms of bronchitis, colds, and flu, and in massages to treat indigestion, abdominal cramps, and muscle or joint aches.

In China and Japan, star anise seeds were chewed after meals to aid digestion and sweeten the breath. The Japanese also planted the related Illicium anisum tree around Buddhist temples and pounded the bark into incense.
